The Logos Hope is Coming to The Bahamas: What Students, Parents, and Teachers Should Know

Something special is sailing into our islands.

The world’s largest floating bookfair, the Logos Hope, is making its way to the Bahamas this fall. The ship will be docked in Freeport from September 18th to October 1st, 2025, and in Nassau from October 2nd to October 20th, 2025. With over 5000 titles on board and a crew from all over the world, this is a rare opportunity for students, teachers, and families to step on board and experience something extraordinary.

What is the Logos Hope?

The Logos Hope is more than a ship, it’s a floating cultural and educational hub. Operated by a Christian faith-based organization, the ship travels around the world bringing knowledge, help, and hope to the communities it visits.

On board, you’ll find:

  • An extensive book fair with thousands of titles from educational books and textbooks to novels and children’s stories.
Takoradi, Ghana :: Bookfair of Logos Hope.
  • A global volunteer crew made up of people from many different nations.
Valletta, Malta :: Crewmembers sing with the local children.
  • An immersive cultural exchange, where visitors can interact with crew members and learn what education and life are like in their home countries.

Why This Visit Matters

The Logos Hope doesn’t sail into Bahamian waters every year. In fact, it may be several years before it returns. That makes this visit a rare and valuable opportunity for students and educators alike.

Here’s why it matters for our community:

  • For students: It’s not just about browsing books, it’s about meeting people from around the world, hearing their stories, and expanding their worldview. Many students may never have had the chance to interact with people from so many cultures in one place. This is a perfect opportunity to take advantage of this.
  • For teachers: The ship offers an international educational perspective. Teachers can connect with educators from other countries, exchange ideas, and gain inspiration for the classroom.
  • For parents: It’s a family-friendly outing that combines fun, education, and exposure to positive role models, volunteers who are dedicated to making an impact wherever they go.

I’ve visited the Logos Hope on two of its previous trips to The Bahamas, and as both an educator and a parent, I believe that stepping onboard isn’t just about visiting a bookstore, it’s about becoming apart of an international learning experience.

The Student Shed on Board

I’ll be going aboard the Logos Hope again during its visit in Grand Bahama, and I’ll share a detailed overview of the experience including photos, videos, and insights. So you’ll know exactly what to expect. Keep an eye on our updates; this is an experience worth following closely.

How Teachers and Schools Can Get Involved

The Logos Hope welcomes school groups, making it an excellent educational field trip opportunity. Under certain conditions, entrance fees are waived for student groups.

Don’t Miss the Logos Hope

If you let this pass by, you may not get another chance for years. The Logos Hope is here to inspire, educate, and connect us in a way no ordinary book fair could.

Mark your calendars for the dates in Grand Bahama and New Providence, gather your students, and step aboard for an unforgettable experience.

📅 Logos Hope Bahamas 2025 Schedule
The Logos Hope will be docked at two ports in The Bahamas this year:

  • Freeport: September 18 – October 1, 2025
  • Nassau: October 2 – October 20, 2025

This is a wonderful opportunity for schools, families, and groups to plan their visits in advance.

See you on the ship!
