Well now is a great time to catch up on those interesting activities or hobbies you weren’t able to do during the school year.
Maybe you’re interested in dolphins, technology, reading support, marine biology, zip lining or boat navigation.
Whatever your fancy, there is most likely a summer program happening right here in the Bahamas which can satisfy your interest.
If you don’t know where to start your search, consider one of these summer programs below;

Age level: 9th-12th Grade
Location: St. Andrews International School, Yamacraw Hill Road, P.O. Box EE 17340 Nassau, New Providence
Dates: August 13-17th, 2019
Description of program: Held at St. Andrew’s School, Hack<IT> Bahamas is a free, week-long technology camp for Bahamian students in grades 9-12.
Accepted teens, “Hack<IT> Scholars” learn from highly qualified STEM instructors, entrepreneurs and professionals from the United States and the Bahamas. Scholars apply this knowledge to develop technology solutions towards challenges facing their communities and their country.
On the final day of the camp, the scholars present their projects, along with a detailed business plan, to a panel of distinguished judges.
Scholars are placed in mixed groups based on geographical location, gender and skill level based on their applications.
Additionally, scholars have the opportunity to refine their teamwork skills through the following interactions and experiences:
Understand the engineering design process
Learn to use critical thinking skills to understand problem identification
Learn to collaborate with their peers working in teams
Use investigative and research skills to obtain potential solutions
Address relevant local/national issues to which they can possibly be a part of the solution
Develop and refined communication skills by presenting their work to a large audience
Learn to defend their ideas by answering questions posed by judges from sponsor companies and fellow peers

Ages: High School Graduates of 2019
Location: Christ the King Anglican Church, Freeport, Grand Bahama
Date: Wednesday, June 26, 2019, 11:00am to 4:00pm
Description: DAPS Corporate Training and Business Services will be hosting a seminar for high school graduates of the class of 2019, on Wednesday, June 26, 2019, 11:00am to 4:00pm at the Foster B. Pestina Hall, Christ The King Anglican Church.
The seminar is geared at further preparing the graduates for “Life after High School”.
Presenters will speak to the participants on topics including: Goal Setting, Financial Planning, Work Ethics, Entrepreneurship and College Life.
There will also be representatives from Civic Organizations present to share information about their organizations and encourage participants to consider joining.
A Fashion Show segment is also planned where models will demonstrate what to wear and what not to wear in the workplace.

10. Marine Biology Summer Course
Ages: 10 and up
Location: Online
Description: Have you always wanted to explore beneath the sea? Ever wondered how those marine plants and animals survive such extreme conditions?
If you have an interest in creatures of the sea, this course is for you.
The Tropical Marine Biology course is an online marine biology summer program for high school students and primary students as well.
Course Start Date: July 1st – 26th, 2019
